Word from Anna O'Brien, DVM

"Veterinary medicine is so scientifically dynamic for many species that you can't go a day without learning something new. I like it. In addition, in this profession, I can be a strong advocate for animal welfare. Assistance in cultivating and nurturing human relationships and animals are an added bonus! Veterinary medicine has so much to offer that any opportunity I have to talk to people about my pets is grasped with two hands, which is why I'm pleased to be on the Veterinary Review Commission with The Spruce Pets; Clear, science-based communication with the public about the animals they love is vital to help them get the best care possible, and that's what veterinary medicine is all about.
